SERVICE

Medication Management.

Careful prescribing, attentive follow-up, and honest conversation about how your medication is working. Always tailored to you, not a protocol.
WHAT THIS INVOLVES

Medication as one part of care.

Medication is one tool among many at LumenMind. When it is appropriate, we prescribe with care and follow up closely. When it is not, we say so.

We start conservatively and titrate based on your response, not on what worked for someone else. Side effects, sleep, mood, and how you feel day to day all inform what we adjust and when.

Most importantly, we explain. You should understand why a medication is recommended, what to expect in the first weeks, and what to do if something does not feel right.

WHAT WE COVER
  • Evidence-informed prescribing
  • Careful titration starting low and slow
  • Side effect monitoring and adjustment
  • Discontinuation planning when appropriate
  • Refill coordination with your pharmacy
  • Clear written instructions for every change
WHO THIS IS FOR

Medication management may be the right starting point if...

  • A previous medication helped but you have not seen a prescriber recently.
  • You are taking a medication that is no longer working as well as it once did.
  • You want a second opinion on an existing medication regimen.
  • A therapist or primary care doctor has recommended psychiatric prescribing.
  • You are dealing with side effects you would like to address.
WHAT TO EXPECT

From first prescription to ongoing partnership.

BEFORE

The review

Before we adjust anything, we review your current medications, your response so far, your medical history, and any side effects. Nothing changes on the first visit unless you and we agree it should.
DURING

The conversation

We meet for 30 to 60 minutes to discuss how things are going, what is working, what is not, and what options exist. You leave with clear next steps.
AFTER

The plan

Any prescription change comes with a written plan: dosing, what to watch for, and when to follow up. Sent the same day so you have it in writing.
FOLLOW-UP

The check-in

We typically follow up within four to six weeks of any change, sometimes sooner. Between visits, you can reach the practice for time-sensitive questions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED

Common questions, answered.

Will you prescribe controlled substances?

Some, yes. ADHD stimulants and certain anxiety medications when clinically appropriate. We follow careful prescribing protocols and require established care before considering them.

It depends. Early in care, every four to six weeks while we find the right dose. Once stable, every three months. Faster if something needs attention.

Often yes, with a full evaluation first. We need to understand your history and current regimen before we are comfortable continuing care.

We adjust. Sometimes that means increasing the dose, sometimes switching, sometimes adding something. The point of close follow-up is to catch these things early.

No. Many patients see us for evaluation or therapy coordination without ever taking a medication. Care should fit you, not the other way around.
